Buddha: In Buddhism, the one who, having overcome all desires, awakens to the perfect knowledge (bodhi) of the truth and becomes free from all actions.
Consigliere: The highest-ranking person in the mafia, just below the direct boss.
Drama: Type of series. Originally referring to the drama genre, this term has been generalized to talk about series where a love story is present.
kDrama: Korean drama.
Comfort Women: The term "comfort women" refers to the young girls rounded up by the Japanese Imperial Army to serve as prostitutes in Korea, but also in China and Southeast Asia during the Asia-Pacific War (1931- 1945).
K-POP: A highly codified musical genre that appeared in South Korea at the beginning of the 1990s, drawing on several trends (pop, electro, hip-hop, rock, etc.), characterized by songs with catchy rhythms performed by groups of girls or boys in eccentric outfits with particularly careful choreography.
Mafia: Secret gang or association of criminals.
Holocaust denial: A doctrine that denies the reality of the genocide of the Jews by the Nazis, particularly the existence of the gas chambers.
(The term Holocaust denial is used, by extension, in connection with other genocides or certain large-scale massacres).
Neo-Confucian: Neo-Confucianism is a Far Eastern philosophical current that took off during the Chinese Song Dynasty and became the official version of Confucianism from the XIVᵉ century until the very beginning of the XXᵉ century, despite competition from the Hanxue current from the Qing Dynasty onwards.
Pagoda: Religious building, derived from the Indian stupa, dedicated to the worship of Buddha in the Far East.
Patriarchate: A form of social organization in which the man exercises power in the political, economic or religious sphere, or holds the dominant role in the family, in relation to the woman.
CEO: Abbreviation for Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
